NVC Security was founded over ten years ago with the aim of providing exceptional service across different industry sectors, whilst looking after our team and constantly striving to improve both the employee and customer experience.

We are looking for an experienced and highly capable Contracts Manager to take overall responsibility for the successful management and delivery of a newly awarded security contract.

This is a senior, client-facing role with responsibility for ensuring that all aspects of the contract are delivered safely, professionally, compliantly and to the highest possible standard.

The successful candidate will oversee the full range of security services delivered under the contract, including manned guarding, keyholding and alarm response, incident management, mobile response and associated security operations.

You will be the key operational link between NVC Security, the client and our frontline security teams, ensuring that contractual requirements, KPIs and service standards are consistently achieved and exceeded.

What We Are Looking For

We are ideally looking for someone with a minimum of3years' experience in a senior security operations, contract management or security management role, with a proven track record of managing clients, security teams and complex operational requirements.

Experience of managing local authority, public-sector, facilities management or multi-site security contracts would be highly advantageous.

The successful candidate will have:

  • A proven track record in security operations and contract management.
  • Experience managing manned guarding and keyholding/alarm response services.
  • Strong client engagement and relationship-management skills.
  • Experience managing and motivating a diverse security workforce.
  • A thorough understanding of UK security regulations, SIA requirements and industry best practice.
  • An SIA licence in Door Supervision or Close Protection.
  • A strong understanding of operational risk, incident management and security procedures.
  • Excellent written and spoken English.
  • A checkable work history covering the previous five years.
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Strong leadership skills and the confidence to make decisions and take ownership.
  • Excellent communication skills, including a professional and confident telephone manner.
  • The ability to brief, delegate and manage teams effectively.
  • Strong observational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to act independently or collaboratively when required.
  • A professional appearance and presentation, as the role will be regularly client-facing.
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office, including email, reporting, data entry and document production.
  • Experience using security management, scheduling or workforce-management systems would be advantageous.
  • A full manual driving licence, as regular travel between client sites will be required.
The Role

The Contracts Manager will be based in Derby and will work closely with the NVC Head of Operations and senior management team, taking responsibility for the day-to-day operational and contractual performance of the local authority account.

The role will involve regular attendance at client premises and other contracted locations, with travel between sites as required.

Working hours will be determined by the operational requirements of the contract. Due to the nature of security operations, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate a high level of flexibility and availability when operational issues, incidents or client requirements arise.

Key Responsibilities

The Contracts Manager will have overall responsibility for the effective delivery, management and continuous improvement of the contract, including:

Overseeing all security operations, including manned guarding, keyholding and alarm response, mobile response, incident management and out-of-hours support.

Managing operational performance, including staff deployment, shift fulfilment, security officer standards, training, briefing and team development.

Maintaining contract quality and compliance, ensuring services meet contractual requirements, client expectations, relevant legislation and NVC Security standards.

Contract & Client Management

You will act as the primary operational point of contact for the client, developing and maintaining a strong and professional working relationship with key stakeholders.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Managing the day-to-day relationship between NVC Security and the client.
  • Regularly attending client premises and conducting meetings and site visits.
  • Developing a detailed understanding of the client's security requirements and operational priorities.
  • Ensuring all contractual obligations and service specifications are delivered.
  • Monitoring contractual KPIs, SLAs and performance indicators.
  • Producing regular management information and performance reports.
  • Leading contract review and performance meetings.
  • Identifying and implementing service improvements.
  • Responding promptly and professionally to client concerns, complaints and requests.
  • Acting as the escalation point for significant operational issues.
  • Maintaining strong communication with client stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ensuring the service consistently meets or exceeds client expectations.
Security Operations & Workforce Management

A major part of the role will be ensuring that NVC Security maintains a robust, reliable and resilient security operation across the client's estate.

You will be responsible for:

  • Managing workforce deployment and shift fulfilment, ensuring all sites are appropriately staffed and resourced, including managing absence, holidays and short-notice requirements.
  • Leading and monitoring security personnel, including performance, conduct, briefings, training, engagement and maintaining consistently high professional standards.
  • Conducting regular site inspections and operational reviews, identifying issues, implementing improvements and ensuring services are delivered effectively and in line with client requirements.
Keyholding & Alarm Response

The Contracts Manager will also oversee the effective delivery of keyholding and alarm response services, ensuring that keyholding arrangements remain accurate, secure and up to date, response procedures are properly implemented and maintained, and incidents are recorded, investigated and reported appropriately.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that the contract operates in accordance with NVC Security procedures, contractual requirements, legislation and relevant industry standards.

Reporting & Performance

The Contracts Manager will provide regular reporting to NVC senior management on the performance of the contract.

You will be expected to identify problems early, take ownership of issues and implement practical solutions rather than simply reporting problems.

What We Are Looking For

This role requires someone who is professional, commercially aware, operationally strong and confident dealing with clients and security personnel at all levels.

You will need to be able to move comfortably between strategic contract management and hands-off operational problem-solving.

You should be:

  • Proactive and solutions-focused.
  • Highly organised and dependable.
  • Confident managing people and challenging poor performance where necessary.
  • Comfortable working under pressure.
  • Able to prioritise competing demands.
  • Confident dealing with senior client representatives.
  • Prepared to make difficult decisions when required.
  • Prepared to form part of the companies on call manager rotation.
  • Commercially aware and focused on delivering excellent client service.
  • Detail-focused, particularly when dealing with compliance and contractual requirements.
  • A strong communicator who is comfortable picking up the phone and dealing with issues directly.
