Job summary

Abatec Recruitment is seeking a Senior Safety Engineer to support projects within a highly regulated environment. You will work with facilities engineering teams to assess safety risks, develop safety requirements and support projects throughout the lifecycle, including nuclear safety analysis and safety case development.

UK nationality and eligibility for security clearance are required; experience with PRA, HAZOP, FMEA and nuclear safety standards is desirable, with dockyard exposure a plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of risk assessment methodologies and hazard identification.
• Experience in safety case development and regulatory compliance.
• Ability to communicate complex safety information to stakeholders.
• Nuclear safety standards familiarity and experience with safety analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Undertake risk assessments, hazard identification and consequence analysis.
• Develop detailed safety requirements and safety cases to support facility design and operation.
• Conduct technical and feasibility studies and site investigations.
• Review project documentation and design changes, identifying risks and opportunities.
• Coordinate governance meetings and communicate progress and changes to engineering teams and project stakeholders.
• Compile and peer review technical reports and support projects from concept through commissioning, operation and maintenance.
