Job summary

Deerfoot Recruitment Solutions Ltd is seeking a Build & Deployment Engineer to own and enhance the on-premises toolchain, securing CI/CD pipelines with Octopus Deploy and related technologies. You will fix the C#/.NET code behind deployments, implement SAST/SCA controls, and drive secure coding practices across development teams.

The role is hybrid in City of London with on-site and remote work, joining a major financial services platform.

Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience of enterprise software build, packaging and deployment engineering.
• Strong C# development skills and solid .NET understanding (Framework & modern).
• Practical experience with Visual Studio, MSBuild, NuGet, IIS, Windows services and REST APIs.
• Administration or engineering experience with at least two: Octopus Deploy, TeamCity, GitHub Enterprise, JFrog Artifactory, JFrog Xray, Azure DevOps Server.
• Strong PowerShell, plus Bash scripting.
• Git workflows, artefact repositories, package versioning and environment promotion.
• Experience implementing secure coding controls (SAST, SCA, secrets detection) and secure development principles.
• Windows Server on-prem hosting, Linux deployment patterns, and DACPAC SQL deployments.
• Experience in regulated environments with change, incident, and release management.
• Desirable: ASP.NET/ASP.NET Core, Entity Framework, NUnit/xUnit, ServiceNow integration, Terraform, Docker/Kubernetes, OWASP, SBOM standards, CyberArk.

Responsibilities

• Engineer, administer and support on-premises build, packaging, artefact and deployment toolchain.
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and templates for Windows and Linux.
• Write, review and troubleshoot C#/.NET deployments, APIs and automation tooling.
• Diagnose complex build/deployment failures across code, dependencies and environments.
• Migrate apps from legacy tooling to Octopus Deploy.
• Define and embed pipeline security controls (SAST, SCA, secrets).
• Manage software supply-chain controls, SBOM, governance and artifacts.
• Integrate deployment with change/release management and audit trails.
• Collaborate with Cyber Security, Risk and Dev teams to onboard apps and fix vulnerabilities.
• Support platform upgrades, patching, resilience, DR and monitoring.
