Job summary

Understanding Recruitment seeks a Lead DevSecOps Engineer to own and evolve the internal developer platform for a growing team of software, AI and infrastructure engineers in the Greater London area.

You will shape tooling, architecture and the technical roadmap while staying hands-on, building systems that accelerate development while increasing security and reliability. This role offers influence over standards and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong background in DevSecOps, Platform Engineering or SRE.
• Experience building developer platforms or sophisticated CI/CD environments.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
• Terraform, OpenTofu or Pulumi.
• Python, Go and/or Bash.
• Good understanding of modern application and infrastructure security.
• An engineering mindset centred around automation, simplicity and reliability.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of the internal developer platform.
• Shape the DevSecOps roadmap and make key technology decisions.
• Build and improve CI/CD and deployment infrastructure.
• Create secure, reusable cloud and infrastructure patterns.
• Drive Infrastructure as Code, GitOps and automation.
• Improve observability, reliability and developer experience.
• Embed security throughout the development lifecycle.
• Mentor engineers and help grow the platform capability.
