Job summary

Northamptonshire Healthcare Foundation Trust is seeking a qualified nurse or paramedic (Band 6) to join the Yarl's Wood Immigration Removal Centre team in Bedford. The post involves working within an integrated healthcare model in a secure environment, providing primary care with a multidisciplinary team.

The role includes emergency response, triage, administering medications, and contributing to clinical governance and audits.

Qualifications

• NMC registration is required.
• Post graduate degree or 18 months post-qualification experience.
• Evidence of ongoing professional development.
• Able to respond effectively in emergencies.
• Experience in MDT working and secure environment is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Autonomously assess and manage residents' care in a secured healthcare environment.
• Attend emergency first responses, triage and use NEWS 2 appropriately.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and communicate clearly.
• Administer medications per NHFT policies and guidance.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide safe, cost-effective nursing care.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings and clinical governance activities.
• Contribute to clinical audits and data collection.
• Carry out risk assessments and respond to self-harm or other risks.
