Job summary

Section Manager for Mechanical Engineering based at the Uxbridge campus. Full-time permanent, 36 hours per week.

Are you an experienced Mechanical Engineering Lecturer looking to step into a management role?

Do you want to take the next step in your education career, leading curriculum delivery, supporting staff, and helping shape the future of Mechanical Engineering provision?

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a well-established College in a first-line management role within the Engineering department. Working closely with the Head of School, you will support curriculum coordination, programme management, quality improvement and staff development across the Mechanical Engineering section.

As Section Manager for Mechanical Engineering, you will teach around 16 hours per week while also supporting the wider management of the curriculum. You will help coordinate programmes, manage timetables, support teaching quality, analyse performance data, and ensure learners achieve strong outcomes across a range of Mechanical Engineering courses.

The role will involve working across a broad Engineering portfolio, including Level 1 Engineering, BTEC Engineering, T Levels, HNC and HND Mechanical Engineering programmes. You will play a key role in maintaining high standards of teaching, learning and assessment while helping develop provision that reflects the needs of local industry.

The ideal candidate will have successful Mechanical Engineering teaching experience, strong FE programme knowledge and a minimum Level 6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related field. You should also hold a Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector. This could suit an experienced lecturer looking to step into management, providing you can demonstrate curriculum coordination, leadership, quality improvement or programme development experience.
