Guardian Jobs in Uxbridge seeks a Section Manager for Mechanical Engineering to lead a Lecturer team, oversee study programmes, and expand provision to meet local industry needs. The role includes teaching 16 hours weekly across a range of programmes and building employer links.

The candidate will drive curriculum development, quality improvement, and staff development, while supporting inclusive learning and safeguarding commitments within the department.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• English and Maths at GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent, or willing to achieve.
• Minimum of Level 5 teaching qualification recognised by the FE sector (e.g. PGCE for FE or Secondary).
• Successful teaching experience in Mechanical Engineering.
• Knowledge and experience of Further Education programmes.
• Curriculum management, co-ordination and development experience.
• Experience of improving teaching, learning and assessment.
• Experience of leading/supervising a team.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for a team of Lecturers and manage study programmes.
• Develop provision across the Section to reflect local industry needs.
• Teach 16 hours per week across a range of programmes.
• Develop links with employers.
• Deputise for the Head of School when required.
• Contribute to safeguarding and promoting inclusive learning.
