Staffline is recruiting for a Section Leader to join the despatch team in Alconbury. The rate of pay is £14.50 per hour, with overtime at £18.13 per hour. This full-time role operates on a 4-on/4-off shift pattern, averaging 40.25 hours per week from 07:00 to 19:30.

Lead and supervise the day-to-day despatch operations, ensuring orders are picked, packed and dispatched accurately and on time. Monitor KPIs and provide coaching to drive performance while maintaining health and safety standards.

Formación

• Experience in despatch/warehouse or logistics with supervisory or team-leader background.
• Strong leadership and people management to motivate and develop a team.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills and ability to meet deadlines.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to liaison across departments.
• Basic IT proficiency including WMS and MS Office.

Responsabilidades

• Lead and supervise day-to-day despatch operations, ensuring orders are picked, packed and dispatched on time.

• Ensure despatch docs (delivery notes, logs, tracking) are accurate.
• Collaborate with inventory, quality and other departments for stock accuracy and smooth workflow.
• Monitor KPIs like order accuracy and on-time dispatch; identify improvements.
• Maintain health, safety, housekeeping and compliance in the despatch area.
• Assist Despatch Section Manager with planning, stock movement and process improvements.

Great opportunity to work as a Section Leader for one of the largest providers of fresh flowers to major supermarket chains throughout the UK.

Staffline is recruiting for Section Leaders to join the team in Alconbury.

The rate of pay is £14.50 per hour.

Overtime is available and is paid at £18.13 per hour.

This is a full-time role.

The shift pattern will be:

Average of 40.25 hours per week, 4 on 4 off

The hours of work are:

Days 07:00am to 19:30pm

Your Time at Work

• Lead and supervise the day-to-day operation of the despatch department, ensuring all customer orders are accurately picked, packed, and dispatched on time.
• Coordinate and allocate work across the despatch team to maintain productivity, efficiency, and service levels while meeting operational targets.
• Monitor team performance and provide ongoing coaching, training, and support to develop skills and improve performance.
• Ensure all despatch documentation, including delivery notes, dispatch logs, and tracking information, is completed accurately and maintained correctly.
• Work closely with inventory, quality, and other internal departments to ensure stock accuracy and the smooth flow of goods through the operation.
• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as order accuracy, on-time dispatch, and team productivity, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety, housekeeping, and compliance within the despatch area, reporting any hazards or incidents promptly.
• Support the Despatch Section Manager with operational planning, problem solving, stock movement activities, and process improvement initiatives.

• Previous experience within a despatch, warehouse, or logistics environment, ideally in a supervisory or team leader position.
• Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and develop a team.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritise workloads and consistently meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across departments.
• Good understanding of warehouse health and safety requirements and compliance standards.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse and despatch environment.
• Basic IT skills, including experience using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and Microsoft Office applications.
• Dependable, accountable, enthusiastic, adaptable, and able to work collaboratively as part of a team.
• Required to be on their feet for extended periods while supervising operations and supporting the team.
• Flexibility to work a 4-on-4-off shift pattern and different shifts as operational requirements dictate.
• A forklift licence is advantageous, or willingness to obtain one.
