Job summary

Kier Group seeks a Section Engineer for the M6 Lune Gorge project based in Tebay. You will support engineering compliance, manage junior teams, and coordinate temporary works while coordinating with subcontractors and on-site operatives.

The role requires a civil engineering degree or HNC, strong temporary works knowledge, and a driving licence. NH Passport and CSCS card are essential, with a permanent, full-time 45-hour week. This position excludes sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Holds a relevant construction or civil engineering Degree or HNC.
• Strong knowledge and practical experience of Temporary Works.
• Experience delivering structural works, particularly bridges.
• Holds an NH Passport and CSCS card.
• Has a full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Supporting and managing the junior engineering team whilst acting as a technical adviser on site for subcontractors and operatives.
• Interpreting design documentation and ensuring works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
• Managing and coordinating temporary works designs and approvals in line with site requirements and programme.
• Supporting construction teams with technical queries, resolving design conflicts, and driving value engineering initiatives.
• Managing Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality matters for your areas of responsibility, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement.
