Job summary

Kier Group plc in Tebay is seeking an Agent to join the M6 Lune Gorge team on a permanent, full-time basis. The role is site-based, five days a week, with a 45-hour week, reporting to the Project Manager and supporting delivery of a major highways contract.

You will oversee safety, quality, and subcontractor management, coordinate design and construction activities, and help manage commercial risks with the Commercial Manager.

Qualifications

• A relevant construction or civil engineering degree, HNC or equivalent qualification.
• An NH Passport and relevant CSCS card.
• Proven experience delivering structures and bridge works, ideally within a highways or major infrastructure environment.
• Strong knowledge and practical understanding of Temporary Works.
• A full driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Managing Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality matters for areas of direct responsibility, ensuring high standards and continuous improvement
• Managing design, pre-construction, construction and close-out activities to meet all contractual and technical requirements
• Supporting the Commercial Manager in administering subcontracts and identifying commercial risks
• Supervising site activities and managing the team, providing mentoring and leadership for junior staff

Job description

We're looking for an Agent to join our M6 Lune Gorge team based in Tebay. Working at an early stage in the contract, you'll assist the project team in setting and delivering a high performing contract on the M6 Lune Gorge project. The project will be delivered in a collaborative environment, working alongside National Highways and our delivery partners., Location: Tebay - site based 5 days per weekHours: Permanent Fulltime 45 hours per week We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.

What will you be responsible for?

As an Agent, you'll help deliver a major highways project where structures and bridges are a key part of the works. You'll work closely with the wider project team, taking responsibility for client liaison, stakeholder engagement and subcontractor management, while helping to drive successful project delivery.
