Job summary

University of Cambridge is seeking a talented Section Chef to join the Catering Service at West Hub Canteen and Occidente Restaurant. You’ll prepare and present dishes to a high standard while supporting events across the estate.

Working mainly Monday to Friday, you’ll collaborate with the Head Chef and kitchen team, uphold food safety and hygiene, assist with stock control, and help train junior staff. The role offers a competitive salary and benefits.

• Experience supporting catering for events and conferences.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your section to a high standard.
• Support catering for university events, meetings and conferences across multiple sites.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team on menus and service delivery.
• Maintain excellent food safety and hygiene standards and keep the section clean and organised.
• Assist with stock control and report shortages or issues to senior chefs.
• Train and guide junior team members and promote good practice.
