Job summary

University of Cambridge Catering Service is seeking a talented Section Chef to join our team at the West Hub Canteen and Occidente Restaurant. You'll help deliver high-quality food for students, staff, visitors and guests in a busy, event-driven operation.

Working with the Head Chef and kitchen team, you'll prepare and present dishes, support events across the University estate, maintain food safety standards, manage your section, train juniors and help control stock.

Qualifications

• Experience in a busy kitchen environment.
• Ability to lead a section and train junior staff.
• Strong focus on food safety and hygiene procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, cook, and present dishes within your section to a high standard.
• Support catering for university events across multiple sites and functions.
• Collaborate with the kitchen team on menu preparation and service delivery.
• Maintain food safety and hygiene standards and keep your section clean and organized.
• Assist with stock control, rotation, labeling, and reporting shortages.
