Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Secondary Tutor to provide tailored 1:1 support to secondary-aged learners across West Sussex. You'll work on behalf of Local Authorities to help students engage and achieve positive educational outcomes.

Ideal candidates have at least 2 years in education and strong subject knowledge, with DBS on Update Service desirable. Start date in September with flexible hours and opportunities across West Sussex, including Crawley, Worthing, Horsham and more.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, mentoring, learning support, or similar roles
• Experience supporting secondary-aged learners
• Strong subject knowledge in one or more curriculum areas
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and proactive approach

Responsibilities

• Provide tailored 1:1 tutoring to secondary-aged learners across West Sussex
• Plan and deliver engaging, personalised sessions for KS3 & KS4
• Support learners to increase confidence, engagement and educational outcomes
• Travel locally within West Sussex as needed
• Work on behalf of Local Authorities to support vulnerable learners

Secondary Tutor

Support Secondary-Aged Learners Through Personalised Education

We're looking for Secondary Tutors to provide tailored 1:1 support to children and young people across West Sussex.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support secondary-aged learners who require alternative educational provision. Many of the students we work with have experienced barriers to learning and benefit from personalised support that helps increase confidence, improve engagement, and achieve positive educational outcomes.

We're particularly keen to hear from tutors based in or around:

• Crawley
• Worthing
• Horsham
• Chichester
• Bognor Regis
• Littlehampton

Location: West Sussex

Key Stage: Secondary (KS3 & KS4)

Start Date: September

Hours: Flexible

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Type: 1:1 Tuition
