Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Secondary Teaching Assistant for a welcoming Newcastle secondary school. The role supports KS3 and KS4 students, working with teaching staff to deliver targeted classroom assistance and promote positive behaviour.

The position is short-term, starting in September, with paid PAYE employment and access to CPD and progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification required for role.
• Experience supporting students in UK secondary settings advantageous.
• Ability to support KS3 and KS4 students.

Responsibilities

• Support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 in a busy secondary school.
• Deliver targeted classroom support alongside teaching staff.
• Promote positive behaviour and student engagement.
• Assist with small group and 1:1 student support where needed.

The school is looking to appoint a Secondary Teaching Assistant on a short-term basis starting in September. The successful Secondary Teaching Assistant will support students across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, working alongside teaching staff to deliver targeted classroom support, promote positive behaviour and help students remain engaged in their learning.

The successful Secondary Teaching Assistant will have:

• A relevant Level 3 qualification
• Experience working within a UK secondary school
• Experience supporting students on a 1:1 basis and within small groups
• Strong behaviour management and communication skills
• A flexible, proactive and enthusiastic approach
• A genuine passion for supporting young people to achieve their potential
