Job summary

First For Education is partnering with a high‑achieving Birmingham school to recruit a dedicated Secondary English teacher. The role requires QTS and a strong English background, capable of delivering engaging lessons across KS3–KS5.

This full‑time, long‑term post offers a competitive daily rate (£160‑£250), weekly PAYE, and ongoing CPD within a supportive, high‑performing environment in the Birmingham (B42) area.

Qualifications

• QTS is required or equivalent certification.
• Experience delivering KS3/KS4/KS5 English lessons.
• Strong classroom management and safeguarding focus.
• Ability to deliver across a range of English topics and KS levels.

Responsibilities

• Deliver pre-planned English lessons across KS3–KS5.
• Adapt teaching to different classroom environments.
• Maintain classroom behaviour in line with school policies.
• Provide feedback on pupil progress and behaviour to staff.

First For Education is proud to be working in partnership with a high-achieving school to recruit a dedicated and enthusiastic person in English.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified English with QTS and a strong academic background in English. They will be a passionate and knowledgeable subject specialist, confident in delivering engaging lessons that inspire curiosity and a love of English while achieving strong outcomes for students. We are actively recruiting for this role and welcome applications from both experienced teachers and ECTs looking to develop their career within a supportive and high-achieving school environment.

This is a full‑time, long‑term position for the new academic year, delivering lessons across KeyStage 3 (KS3), Key Stage 4 (KS4) and Key Stage 5 desirable.

Secondary Supply Teacher role requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
