Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking enthusiastic Secondary Supply Teachers to join our growing team in Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas of Hertfordshire from September 2026. You will have the flexibility to work one day a week, several days, or full-time supply work, with opportunities across local secondary schools.

Deliver engaging lessons across KS3–KS5, teach your specialist subject or provide general cover, and create a positive learning environment while managing behaviour in line with school

Qualifications

• Qualified teachers with QTS or QTLS.
• Early Career Teachers (ECTs) considered.
• Experience in secondary schools preferred.
• Open to subject specialists and cover supervisors.
• Unqualified teachers with relevant secondary classroom experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3 to 5 where appropriate.
• Teach a specialist subject or provide general cover.
• Create a positive learning environment and manage behaviour.
• Ensure student progress and provide end-of-day feedback to teachers.

Due to increasing demand from our partner secondary schools across Hemel Hempstead and the surrounding areas of Hertfordshire, Supply Desk is looking for enthusiastic and dedicated Secondary Supply Teachers to join our growing supply team from September 2026.

Whether you're looking for one day a week, several days each week or full-time supply work, we'll help you find opportunities that fit around your lifestyle.

Your Role

• Deliver engaging lessons across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4 and, where appropriate, Key Stage 5
• Teach your specialist subject or provide general cover in local secondary schools
• Create a positive and purposeful learning environment
• Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies
• Ensure students remain engaged and make progress throughout the lesson
• Provide clear feedback to the regular class teacher or department at the end of the day
