Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking a Secondary Teaching Assistant in Lewisham, London, to support pupils with special educational needs in a bustling Greenwich area school. This temporary role offers term-time hours with potential for progression and permanent opportunities.

You will work alongside teachers and therapists, assist with reading and writing tasks, manage routines and behaviour, and report safeguarding concerns promptly. DBS check and GCSEs in Maths/English required.

Qualifications

• Genuine desire to work with children with SEN.
• Caring, compassionate and resilient.
• Can-do attitude and proactive approach.
• DBS check required.
• Not barred from working with children.
• GCSE Maths & English at A*-C or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside teachers, therapists and other support staff.
• Ensure equipment and facilities are safe for children to use.
• Prepare activities and tidy away after sessions.
• Develop understanding with a child to maintain an optimal learning environment.
• Report safeguarding concerns promptly and accurately.
