Job summary

Teaching Personnel Liverpool & Wirral is seeking Secondary SEN Teaching Assistants to support students aged 11-16 with ASC, ADHD, SLCN, SEMH, MLD and more in Wirral schools. Roles include one-to-one and small-group support across mainstream and SEN provisions.

We offer competitive daily rates (£95-£110), flexible full-time and part-time opportunities, ongoing CPD, and pathways to long-term placements with compliant starts.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children, young people or vulnerable individuals in an education setting is desirable but not essential.
• Graduates seeking school-based experience are welcome to apply.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach is important.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs is encouraged.

Responsibilities

• Support students with SEN in lessons to promote engagement and progress.
• Build positive relationships to encourage confidence and wellbeing.
• Assist teachers with classroom management and differentiated activities.
• Support students with social, emotional and behavioural needs using positive strategies.
• Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to staff and SENCOs.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment.
