Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join SEN/SEMH schools in Skelmersdale and Chorley as Teaching Assistants. No formal experience required, candidate backgrounds in care or youth work welcome.

Role involves 1:1 and small-group support, helping with social and behavioural needs, and assisting learning inside and outside the classroom. Full-time and part-time hours available with ongoing training.

Qualifications

• Experience working in care, support work, residential settings, youth work, or similar roles.
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach.
• Confidence managing challenging behaviours.
• Genuine passion for helping young people reach their potential.
• Willingness to learn and develop within an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Help students with social, emotional, and behavioural needs.
• Support learning both inside and outside the classroom.
• Build positive relationships and act as a role model.
• Work closely with teachers and other education professionals.
