Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking enthusiastic Secondary Teaching Assistants to support learning across Wallasey schools and nearby areas. Roles range from term-time placements to daily cover, with options to work locally in Wallasey, New Brighton, Liscard, Egremont and Seacombe.

You will assist in Key Stage 3 and 4, help students engage with tasks, and support teachers with learning activities. DBS update service or willingness to apply is required.

Qualifications

• Recent experience supporting young people in secondary schools, youth work, or care settings.
• Strong communication skills and a patient, resilient approach.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or readiness to apply for one with us).

Responsibilities

• Support individual students and small groups during Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 lessons.
• Help students understand class tasks and stay focused on their learning.
• Maintain a positive, productive environment using calm behaviour strategies.
• Assist the class teacher with setting up learning activities and resources.
• Provide quick, clear feedback to the teacher on student progress at the end of the lesson.
