Job summary

Prospero Teaching is seeking a Secondary English Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 support across the BCP area. The role focuses on improving literacy, communication, comprehension and engagement with education for secondary learners.

Flexible hours with pay £25-£30 per hour. DBS update service or willingness to obtain one is required; travel across local areas is preferred.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
• Strong English subject knowledge
• Experience supporting secondary-aged learners
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; alternatively, willingness to travel locally across the BCP area

Responsibilities

Secondary English Tutor

Help Young People Build Confidence in English

We're looking for a Secondary English Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 support to children and young people across the BCP area.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision and benefit from tailored educational support. Many of the students we work with face barriers to learning and need a tutor who can help improve literacy, communication, comprehension, and written skills while building confidence and engagement with education.

This is an excellent opportunity for education professionals who are passionate about English and enjoy helping learners achieve meaningful progress.

Pay Rate: £25-£30 per hour

Requirements

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
