Job summary

Prospero Teaching seeks a dedicated Secondary English Tutor to deliver 1:1 tuition in the Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole area. You will support learners with literacy, comprehension and confidence, working on behalf of Local Authorities to provide tailored educational provision.

Flexible hours and competitive pay (£25-£30 per hour) are offered. DBS checks or Updates Service are preferred, with travel across the BCP area encouraged to reach learners and create meaningful progress in GCSE and

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months' experience in an educational setting, including tutoring, teaching, teaching assistant, learning support, mentoring, or similar roles
• Strong English subject knowledge
• Experience supporting secondary-aged learners
• Ability to plan and deliver engaging, personalised lessons
• Experience supporting learners with SEND, EHCPs, or additional needs is desirable
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Patient, adaptable, and encouraging approach
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one
• Driver preferred; travel locally across the BCP area

Secondary English Tutor

Help Young People Build Confidence in English

We're looking for a Secondary English Tutor to provide personalised 1:1 support to children and young people across the BCP area.

Working on behalf of Local Authorities, you'll support learners who require alternative educational provision and benefit from tailored educational support. Many of the students we work with face barriers to learning and need a tutor who can help improve literacy, communication, comprehension, and written skills while building confidence and engagement with education.

This is an excellent opportunity for education professionals who are passionate about English and enjoy helping learners achieve meaningful progress.
