Job summary

Randstad Education are recruiting a Secondary Cover Supervisor to support schools across Brighton, Hove and Sussex. No marking or planning required, just confident classroom leadership during the standard 8:30 AM–3:30 PM day.

You will lead KS3/KS4 classes, deliver pre-set work, and help maintain a positive learning environment. Enhanced DBS is required or you must be willing to apply. Competitive pay of £100–£130 per day paid weekly via PAYE, with local placements across the coast.

Qualifications

• Presence to command a room with enthusiasm and professional maturity.
• Versatility with backgrounds in education, youth work, sports coaching, or performing arts.
• Reliability with standard availability during school hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM).
• Vetting: Enhanced DBS on Update Service or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead classes across Key Stage 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Deliver pre-set work, answer pupil questions, and ensure students stay focused.
• Set the vibe by maintaining positive classroom behavior with clear boundaries and calm authority.
• End-of-Day: hand back completed work and submit attendance notes before clocking out.

• End-of-Day Transition:Hand back completed work and submit brief, essential attendance notes before clocking out.
