Job summary

Randstad Education is seeking a Secondary Cover Supervisor to support schools across Brighton, Hove and Sussex. This role requires no marking or planning, allowing you to lead classes and guide learning during the day.

You will maintain a positive learning environment, manage behaviour, and complete end-of-day attendance notes, with a typical 8:30 AM–3:30 PM schedule and weekly PAYE pay.

Qualifications

• Presence to command a room with enthusiasm and professional maturity.
• Versatility from backgrounds in education, youth work, sports coaching, or performing arts.
• Reliability with standard availability during school hours (8:30 AM - 3:30 PM).
• Vetting: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Room: Oversee classes across Key Stage 3 and 4 in the absence of the regular teacher.
• Guide Learning: Deliver pre-set work, answer pupil questions, and keep students focused.
• Set the Vibe: Maintain positive classroom behavior with clear boundaries and calm authority.
• End-of-Day Transition: Hand back completed work and submit essential attendance notes before clocking out.
