Job summary

Teach Now is recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant (ASD) for a long-term secondary‑school role in Enfield, London. Salary £90–£100 per day, full-time, long-term temporary with a start date of 8 September 2026.

The role focuses on autism-focused support to help pupils develop communication, confidence and independence across KS3–KS5. You will work with pupils individually and in small groups, alongside the SENCO and wider inclusion team.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with autism.
  • Secondary school experience in SEN provision or similar setting.
  • Calm, consistent behaviour-management skills and strong communication.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils with ASD.
  • Support pupils with lesson expectations and task breakdowns.
  • Assist with communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
  • Use visual resources and routines to support learning.
  • Prepare pupils for changes to lessons and daily routines.
  • Support pupils during transitions and less structured times of the day.
  • Record progress and concerns clearly.
