Job summary

Crerar Hotels Balmoral Arms is seeking a Second Chef to support the Head Chef in maintaining exceptional kitchen standards. You will lead the team, drive training and development, and ensure strict hygiene and safety while managing portions, waste, and stock to sustain profitability.

We require strong experience in food hygiene and team management, with a can-do attitude. The role includes flexible shifts and staff accommodation is available on site.

Qualifications

• Experience leading kitchen teams in a busy, professional kitchen.
• Strong knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety regulations.
• Ability to train and develop staff and maintain high standards.

Responsibilities

• Support Head Chef to uphold high kitchen standards.
• Lead and mentor the kitchen team; provide guidance and training.
• Monitor portion control, manage waste and stock levels.
• Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen and adherence to safety.
