Job summary

Runwood Homes Limited is recruiting a Second Chef to join our Hospitality team. You will deliver hotel and restaurant standard meals for residents, without split shifts or long hours, supporting the Head Chef in their absence.

You should have Food Hygiene Level 2, ideally NVQ Level 2, and experience in a catering environment with knowledge of special dietary needs. Join a growing provider across England with internal training and career progression opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment, ideally for residents in care settings.
• Strong grasp of dietary requirements and food safety practices.
• Secure understanding of special dietary and nutritional requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and serve meals to the highest standards while ensuring residents’ wellbeing.
• Cook and present meals in accordance with menus and company requirements.
• Comply with Food Safety & Hygiene Regulations (England) 2013 and related regulations.
• Maintain quality of meals in terms of presentation and taste.
• Follow portion control to minimise waste.
• Meet individual dietary requirements by using charts/recipes or adapting dishes.
• Maintain systems/checks to provide a safe, healthy and efficient kitchen.
• Store all food and items correctly and rotate stock.
• Deputise for Head Chef when required.
