Job summary

Byron - Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Second Chef to support the Head Chef, energise the kitchen and help deliver our burgers, fries and sides with passion night after night.

You’ll develop the team, maintain health and safety standards, and ensure every dish leaves the kitchen to a high standard. Benefits include up to £13.95 per hour plus tronc, a free meal on shift and 50% food discount for you and family.

Qualifications

• Experience leading a kitchen team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety and audit standards.
• Ability to develop and motivate staff while maintaining high food quality.

Responsibilities

• Support the Head Chef and kitchen team to prepare burgers, fries and sides to a high standard.
• Build and develop the team with patience and emotional intelligence.
• Ensure compliance with health and safety and audit standards on shift.
• Ensure all food leaves the kitchen with attention to detail.

As a Second Chef, you’ll support your Head Chef to developand inspire the team to serve our guests our delicious burgers, fries &sides, plate after plate after plate. You’ll make sure your shift runs as itshould – smoothly, and with great energy. You'll love being in the heart of thebusiness and working side by side with your fellow Byronites, because asdelicious as our burgers are, our people are the most important thing in ourrestaurants.

What will you be doing?

Led by your Head Chef, you’ll support the kitchen team tocreate not only world-class burgers and sides, but an engaging culture and apositive atmosphere. As a Second Chef with Byron, you’ll:

• Help build and develop the team, acting with patience andemotional intelligence
• Have a strong understanding of Health and Safety andaudit standards
• Have experience working in a leadership role within akitchen
• Have great attention to detail, ensuring all food leavesthe kitchen as it should

The basic hourly rate not including troncis £12.45-£13.95 depending on experience
