Job summary

The Montana Department of Transportation is seeking a Temp Snowplow Driver/Highway Maintenance Tech for Glasgow or Opheim. The role involves winter road maintenance, snow removal, guardrail and signage work, and salt brine production.

A valid Montana Commercial Operators License (Class A, Type II) with a tank endorsement and MEC are required. Work hours vary 20-40 per week, with potential weekends/holidays and a season running roughly mid-November to March.

Qualifications

• Valid Montana Commercial Operators License (Class A, Type II) with no restrictions and a tank endorsement.
• Medical Examiner's Certificate (MEC) required.
• Experience driving heavy trucks or operating construction equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate snowplow and perform highway maintenance duties in winter.
• Perform right-of-way maintenance, guardrail repair, signage, and luminaires.
• Assist with salt brine production and traffic control.
• Be available for emergency weather conditions and weekends.
