Job summary

Pertemps Royal Mail is seeking a Seasonal Shift Coordinator for the Stoke-on-Trent parcel hub during the Christmas peak. This temporary contract runs mid-September to end-December, with shifts Tue–Sat 05:30–14:30.

You will coordinate a large temporary workforce, help ensure shifts are staffed, and support operations with the management team. You will need strong organisational and communication skills, be proactive, and enjoy helping people.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate a large seasonal workforce to ensure smooth shift operations.
• Ensure each shift is fully staffed and where necessary sign in/out workers and manage attendance.
• Assist workers throughout their assignment to keep operations moving.
• Support the Roy Mail Parcel Hub management team to run the operation safely and efficiently.
• Sign in/out temporary workers and monitor attendance and replacements as needed.
• Address no-shows, lateness and absence and contact replacements to maintain coverage.
• Support new starters and welfare checks for temporary staff.
• Assist payroll by ensuring attendance records are accurate and up-to-date.
• Complete shift reports and communicate key updates during handovers.
• Support workforce targets across a 24/7 operation.
