Job summary

COOK Pastry & Pies is seeking a Sealing & Packing Team Leader in Sittingbourne, working Monday to Friday, 2pm–10pm. You will drive the final production steps, supervising a dedicated team to ensure products leave in perfect condition, with strict adherence to weight, labeling and packaging specifications.

You will monitor freezing processes, operate quality controls, and lead daily targets while fostering a collaborative work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in leading a small production team is beneficial.
• Attention to detail in a fast-paced packing environment.
• Ability to follow strict food safety and quality controls.

Responsibilities

• Oversee sealing, sleeving, and boxing to meet accuracy, speed and presentation standards.
• Verify products are correctly frozen; ensure x-ray machines and metal detectors are set.
• Confirm target weights and complete paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Manage freezer operations and ensure blast freezers are defrosted as required.
• Ensure labels and sleeves are correct before sleeving and packaging aligns with product specs.

Position: Sealing & Packing Team Leader Location: Sittingbourne - COOK Pastry & Pies Hours: Monday to Friday 2pm to 10pm Salary: £28626 per year As our Sealing & Packing Team Leader, you'll be the driving force behind the final step of our production process. From sealing to sleeving to boxing, you'll make sure every product leaves our doors in perfect condition. Leading a dedicated team, you'll combine attention to detail with efficiency to guarantee our customers receive nothing less than excellence. The Role Product Quality & Accuracy: Oversee sealing, sleeving, and boxing processes to meet accuracy, speed, and presentation standards. Verify that all products are correctly frozen, and ensure x-ray machines and metal detectors are appropriately set. Compliance & Record Keeping: Confirm that all products meet target weights (a legal obligation) and ensure corresponding paperwork is completed accurately and legibly. Manage and maintain freezer operations, ensuring blast freezers are defrosted as required. Process Verification: Ensure labels and sleeves are correct before sleeving and that all packaging aligns with product specifications. Leadership & Team Management: Lead and support the sealing and packing team to achieve daily targets while fostering a positive and collaborative working environment.
