Job summary

Cook Trading Limited in Sittingbourne is seeking a Warehouse Team Leader – Pantry to guide a hands-on team in delivering high standards across daily warehouse operations.

You’ll plan tasks, ensure safety and accuracy, and collaborate with management to meet targets while upholding COOK’s values and a supportive, inclusive culture. The role runs Monday–Friday, 8am–4pm, with a competitive pay and benefits package.

Warehouse Team Leader – Pantry

Location: Sittingbourne, Kent – COOK Pastry & Pies Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 4pm Pay Rate: £29,581.50 per year

As a pantry Team Leader you’ll play an important role in supporting your team and helping us deliver great results every day. Your eye for detail, positive attitude, and commitment to doing things the right way will help ensure our warehouse operations run smoothly, efficiently, and to the high standards our customers expect.

You’ll lead by example, support your colleagues, and help create a positive working environment where everyone can do their best work.

The Role

• Lead, motivate, and support your team, creating a positive and encouraging environment where everyone can grow and thrive.
• Plan and allocate daily tasks, ensuring priorities and expectations are clearly communicated.
• Support the smooth running of the warehouse and ensure work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required standards.
• Work closely with the management team and other departments to coordinate activities and achieve business objectives.
• Ensure all relevant processes, records, and paperwork are completed accurately and on time.
• Maintain high standards of accuracy, organisation, housekeeping, and stock control.
• Monitor quality and standards within the department, identifying and addressing issues promptly.
• Proactively identify challenges and communicate effectively with the relevant manager to find solutions.
• Maintain clear and effective communication within your team and across departments.
• Encourage and coach team members to develop their skills and embrace continuous improvement.
• Support people management processes, including addressing performance issues, recognising achievements, and identifying colleagues with potential for further development.
• Lead by example, demonstrating COOK’s values and taking ownership to resolve challenges.

Good to Have

• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, food manufacturing, or similar environment.
• Experience of leading or supporting a team, with a focus on maintaining high standards and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a busy team environment.
• Good attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Experience with stock control, warehouse systems, or food manufacturing processes would be advantageous.
