Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust seeks a Lead Pharmacy Technician to oversee the SDU, ensuring safe, efficient daily operation and high-quality patient care. The role spans procurement, storage, dispensing and distribution of Batch and PS products, with KPI monitoring and cross-site staff leadership.

You'll manage rotas, collaborate with aseptic teams and external suppliers, and drive service improvements while maintaining compliance with trust policies.

Responsibilities

• Lead the safe daily running of the SACT Distribution Unit (SDU) to ensure high standards of patient care.
• Manage procurement, storage, dispensing and distribution of Batch and Patient Specific products to all areas of the Royal Marsden.
• Monitor KPIs and report weekly/monthly (workload turnaround, errors, wastage, capacity).
• Oversee staff allocation and rota development for SDU across shifts.
• Collaborate with Aseptic Operations Manager, Stores Managers, Systems Manager and Chief Technicians.
• Lead communication with outsourced suppliers and monitor service delivery and standards.
