Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Lead to manage the SACT Distribution Unit (SDU) across RMH sites. You will oversee procurement, storage, dispensing and distribution of Batch and Patient Specific products, ensuring safe service delivery and high standards.

You will monitor KPIs, manage staff rosters, and collaborate with Aseptic Services, Pharmacy Systems and Finance to drive service improvements.

Qualifications

NVQ/QCF level 3/BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
Registered Technician with GPhC.
Practice supervisor/Educational supervisor certificate / Train the Trainer or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Lead the effective and safe daily running of the SDU to ensure a safe service provision.
Manage procurement, storage, dispensing and distribution of Batch and PS products.
Monitor KPIs and report weekly/monthly on workload turnaround times, errors, wastage and capacity.
Oversee staff allocation and rota planning for SDU shifts.
Liaise with Aseptic Operations Manager, Pharmacy Stores Manager and other leadership roles.
Lead communication with outsourced suppliers and monitor service delivery.
Oversee that Batch/PS doses are dispensed and delivered to the correct day unit/ward ahead of patient chair time.
