Job summary

The Royal Marsden NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician Lead for the SACT Distribution Unit. You will oversee procurement, storage, dispensing and distribution of Batch and Patient Specific products across RMH sites, ensuring safe, efficient service and KPI delivery.

You will manage staffing rotas, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive audit cycles and process improvements in a high-demand cancer care environment.

Qualifications

• NVQ/QCF level 3/BTEC in Pharmaceutical Sciences or equivalent.
• Registered Technician with GPhC.
• Practice supervisor/Educational supervisor certificate or Train the Trainer or equivalent.
• Significant experience supervising others and giving feedback.
• Experience organising a service day-to-day.
• Experience in recruitment and staff management.
• Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and cytotoxic drug handling.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage staff across RMH SDU in procurement, storage, dispensing and distribution.
• Ensure adequate staffing to meet daily commitments and rota planning.
• Balance workload with service priorities and use initiative.
• Collaborate with Aseptic Team to maintain high-quality service.
• Participate in meetings and drive service improvements.
• Audit the SDU to ensure best practice and KPI delivery.
• Ensure batch and PS doses are delivered on time to wards.
