Job summary

LGC in Bury, UK, invites applications for an SDS Author within Regulatory Compliance to ensure detailed regulatory adherence across our Standards Division. You will write Safety Data Sheets, classify products for distribution, and mentor peers on global SDS practices using our software, while collaborating with Production and Supply Chain teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Toxicology, Chemistry, Biology or related field. (or equivalent experience)
• Proven experience in SDS authoring or product classification.
• Knowledge of transport regulations (IATA, ADR, DOT).
• Ability to apply toxicology data to safe chemical handling.
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
• Strong ability to prioritise and manage multiple assignments.

Responsibilities

• Formulate SDS documents and advise on labeling per global regulations.
• Interpret regulatory and HES requirements including hazard evaluation and transport classification.
• Stay up-to-date with international/national regulations (GHS, CLP, REACH, OSHA, WHMIS).
• Draft SDSs and labeling solutions aligned with regulations and internal policies.
• Lead new processes with high accuracy and attention to detail.
• Collaborate effectively within a team and independently.
