Job summary

The LGC Group seeks an SDS Author within the Regulatory Compliance Team in Bury, UK. You will craft Safety Data Sheets, classify products for distribution, and mentor colleagues on regulatory requirements, collaborating with Production and Supply Chain.

Apply global regulations (GHS, CLP, REACH) and use our SDS software to drive categorisation, writing and labelling with precision. The role demands detail-orientation, deadline management, and clear communication with customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Toxicology, Chemistry, Biology or related field.
• Proven experience in SDS authoring or product classification within chemicals/biological/pharma industries.
• In-depth knowledge of transport regulations (IATA, ADR, DOT, etc.).
• Excellent interpersonal and written communication to engage with technical and non-technical personnel.

Responsibilities

• Formulate Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and provide mentorship on labelling per global regulations.
• Research and interpret regulatory and HES requirements, including hazard evaluation and transport classification.
• Maintain compliance with international and national regulations (GHS, CLP, REACH, OSHA, WHMIS, HazCom2012).
• Draft SDS documents and recommend labelling solutions aligned with regulations and policies.
• Lead new processes with attention to detail and accuracy; collaborate with team or work independently.
