Job summary

Sanderson Government & Defence is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support high-profile Digital Engineering delivery teams in a SAFe environment. You will facilitate agile ceremonies, coach teams, and work with senior engineering stakeholders to maximise performance. Active SC Clearance is essential. The role is Reading-based with two days onsite per week and an initial six-month contract Inside IR35 at up to £650 per day.

Scrum Master (SC Cleared) | Digital Engineering | Up to £650 per day Inside IR35

We're seeking experienced Scrum Masters to support high-profile Digital Engineering delivery teams within a complex Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment. This role requires individuals who can confidently facilitate agile delivery, remove impediments, and coach teams to maximise performance while engaging effectively with senior engineering stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• Drive delivery excellence and promote Agile best practices across engineering teams.
• Identify, manage and remove blockers to ensure consistent delivery progress.
• Facilitate and support Programme Increment (PI) Planning activities.
• Coach teams, Product Owners and stakeholders on Agile principles and delivery discipline.
• Manage dependencies, risks and delivery challenges across multiple teams within a scaled agile environment.
• Foster collaboration and continuous improvement across engineering and delivery functions.
• Build strong relationships with senior engineering and programme stakeholders.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience working as a Scrum Master within complex technology or engineering programmes.
• Strong experience working within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) environment.
• Hands-on experience facilitating and supporting PI Planning events.
• Demonstrable track record of coaching teams on Agile delivery practices and continuous improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage and challenge senior engineering stakeholders.
• Excellent communication, facilitation and problem-solving skills.
• Active SC Clearance is essential.

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience working within a consultancy environment.
• Experience delivering programmes within the Defence sector.
• Exposure to complex, secure or highly regulated environments.

Security Requirements

• Active SC Security Clearance required.
• UK Sole National.

Contract Details

• Rate: Up to £650 per day
• Duration: 6 months initial contract
• Engagement: Inside IR35
• Location: Reading (2 days per week onsite)
