Job summary

Softcat is seeking a proactive Scrum Master to join our Internal Technology Team in Manchester. You will coach and facilitate Agile teams, help the Product Owner refine backlogs and drive continuous improvement across sprints.

This role focuses on delivering value through collaborative, transparent processes and strong stakeholder engagement. Hybrid working, with 2 days in the office and 3 days from home, along with flexible hours and school pickup arrangements, are available to support your

Qualifications

• Experience supporting Agile or Scrum teams.
• Strong facilitation and communication skills with a coaching‑focused style.
• Solid understanding of Agile principles and Scrum mechanics.
• Ability to identify and escalate risks, blockers and dependencies.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate Scrum ceremonies: daily standups, sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives.
• Guide team understanding of Scrum roles, events and artefacts.
• Collaborate with Product Owner to ensure backlog items are refined and ready for development.
• Track delivery metrics and identify opportunities to improve predictability and throughput.
• Promote working agreements and accurate estimation to improve delivery.
• Escalate blockers that the team cannot resolve.

As a Scrum Master, you'll support a product or platform-led squad in delivering value through Agile ways of working. Acting as a coach and facilitator, you'll help the team stay focused on priorities, work effectively together and continuously improve, while fostering a culture of transparency, accountability and learning.

As the Scrum Master, you'll be responsible for:

• Facilitate consistent Scrum ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, sprint reviews and retrospectives.
• Guide teams in understanding roles, events and artefacts within Scrum.
• Work with the Product Owner to ensure backlog items are refined, understood and ready for development.
• Track delivery metrics and help teams understand trends or opportunities for improvement.
• Promote working agreements and estimates that improve predictability and throughput.
• Escalate blockers the team cannot resolve themselves.

We'd love you to have:
