Job summary

SSEN Transmission in Scotland seeks an Assistant Project Manager to join the Network Development Team. You will coordinate new connection activities, whole system planning and network resilience, supporting multiple schemes across SHET area.

The role requires spending 50% of the week in the office in Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness, with permanent, full-time, Flexible First options. Salary £36,200–£54,400 plus car/car allowance and a performance bonus, plus benefits.

Qualifications

• An engineering or technical qualification (or equivalent experience).
• Experience in supporting infrastructure projects through early stage optioneering, routing and feasibility assessments would be advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and organisational skills to collaborate across multiple teams and stakeholders.
• Understanding of commercial principles, project reporting and financial control within a large capital project environment.
• Interest or understanding of electrical transmission networks and regulatory frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate new connection activities, whole system planning and network resilience.
• Support management and development of schemes across SHET area and interfaces with other Transmission Operators.
• Assist in developing technical designs, programmes and cost proposals for transmission projects in CDM compliance.
• Contribute to options development, conceptual design, cost and programme.
• Support Transmission System Planning Engineers in feasibility studies and conceptual design activities.
