SSE is seeking a Lead Principal Engineer - Transformers based in Scotland, with a requirement to spend about 50% of time in the office across Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness. The role offers a base salary between £80,700 and £121,100, plus car or car allowance, performance bonus and comprehensive benefits.

It is a permanent, full-time, hybrid position. You will lead a team of transformer and wound-plant SMEs, drive standardisation, and own technical specifications and guidance within

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading and developing a high performing technical team.
• Experience as Technical Authority with risk-based engineering judgments.
• Deep technical experience in wound plant transformers and HVDC/converter transformers.
• Strong knowledge of National Grid, British, European and international standards.
• Ability to influence through industry forums such as CIGRE, ENA and IEC.

Responsabilités

• Lead, coach and develop a team of transformer experts within Network Engineering.
• Drive innovation and standardisation for Transformers with industry forums to influence UK and international practices.
• Develop, maintain and own specifications and guidance for electrical wound plant used on the Transmission network.
• Act as a senior Design Authority and Technical Authority for transformer engineering and related approvals.
• Review supplier proposals, test plans and witnessing transformer/wound plant testing.
