SSE Enterprise is seeking a Lead Principal Engineer – Transformers based in Scotland, with 50% office presence in locations such as Glasgow, Perth, Aberdeen or Inverness. You will lead a team of transformer specialists, provide technical authority, shape specifications, and drive value-based engineering for the transmission network.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with Chartered Engineer status or working towards it.
• Proven track record leading and developing high-performing SME teams.
• Experience as Technical Authority with risk-based decision making.
• Deep knowledge of transmission-wound plant and grid transformers.

Responsibilities

• Lead transformer and wound plant SMEs within Network Engineering and manage priorities.
• Drive innovation and standardisation for transformers, engaging industry forums.
• Develop and own specifications and guidance notes for electrical wound plant.
• Review supplier proposals, test plans and oversee transformer testing and audits.
