Job summary

SSEN Transmission in Scotland seeks a Lead Principal Engineer – Transformers to provide technical leadership across transformer, reactor and wound plant subject matter experts within Network Engineering. You will shape specifications, assure projects and promote value-based engineering decisions.

As senior Design Authority, you will own technical assurance, deviations and key decisions while driving standardisation and collaboration with stakeholders across the Transmission network.

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading and developing high-performing teams of SMEs.
• Substantial experience as a Technical Authority, with credibility to lead assurance and standardisation.
• Deep technical experience in design, specification, testing and maintenance of transmission-voltage wound plant.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach and develop transformer and wound plant SME teams.
• Drive innovation and standardisation for Transformers engaging industry forums.
• Develop and own specifications and guidance notes for electrical wound plant.
• Act as senior Design Authority and Technical Authority for transformer engineering.
• Review supplier proposals, test plans and factory QA for transformer equipment.
