Job summary

SimWest Engineering Recruitment seeks an ambitious Area Sales Manager to own and develop the Scottish territory for a market-leading machinery manufacturer. You will manage existing accounts and win new business by presenting engineered solutions based on value, not price, with autonomy to shape strategy and territory growth.

You'll sell high-value capital equipment with typical orders around £150,000; base salary £45,000–£65,000 plus commission, company car, pension and private healthcare.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial machinery or technical sales.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Proactive approach to prospecting and business development.

Responsibilities

• Existing Account Development: maximise opportunities within current Scottish customers by introducing new products.
• New Business Development: identify, prospect and win new customers across Scotland.
• Build relationships with business owners, engineers and senior decision-makers.
• Understand customer requirements and recommend technical solutions.
• Manage consultative sales opportunities from enquiry to quotation and order.
• Develop a strong sales pipeline and deliver sustainable revenue growth.
