An established £1m+ sales territory. The opportunity to triple it. Could you be the person to make it happen?
SimWest is recruiting an ambitious Area Sales Manager for a market-leading international machinery manufacturer looking to significantly grow its Scottish territory.
With an established customer base, annual sales in the region exceeding £1m and ambitious growth targets, this is an opportunity to make a genuine commercial impact.
We're looking for someone who enjoys developing new customers, maximising opportunities within existing accounts and selling engineered solutions based on value rather than price alone.
You don't need experience selling the company's particular machinery. Your technical understanding, commercial drive and ambition are more important.
As Area Sales Manager, you'll take ownership of the Scottish territory, with considerable autonomy and two equally important priorities:
Your wider responsibilities will include:
You’ll be selling high-value capital equipment, with typical orders around £150,000 and larger projects reaching seven figures.
Comprehensive product training and a planned territory handover will help you get established.
We welcome applications from experienced Area Sales Managers, Regional Sales Managers, Sales Engineers, and Business Development Managers.
We're also interested in Field Service Engineers or Service Engineers with strong customer-facing skills, commercial awareness and the ambition to move into technical sales.
The company is committed to developing its people and can provide extensive training, technical knowledge and ongoing professional development to help you succeed.
Ideally, you’ll have:
Previous sales experience is advantageous, but commercially minded engineers with the right attitude and potential will also be considered.
This is a field-based Area Sales Manager position covering Scotland, ideally suited to someone based within approximately 90 minutes of Glasgow or Edinburgh, although applications from suitably qualified candidates elsewhere in Scotland are also welcome.
Occasional overnight travel will be required for customer visits, demonstrations and training.
All applications will be handled in the strictest confidence
