Job summary

Anglian Water offers a science placement across its hubs, with potential progression to a permanent role. You will collaborate with Sampling teams to collect samples and monitor environmental and drinking-water quality.

You will gain laboratory experience with analytical instruments and transform data into actionable insights. The role supports Process Science and infrastructure projects regionally.

• Recent graduate or student in a science degree with a 2:2 or above

• Complete placements across Science and potentially take up a permanent role at Anglian Water hubs
• Experience the complete water journey from source to tap
• Work alongside Sampling teams collecting samples and monitoring environmental and drinking-water quality
• Gain laboratory experience using technologies and analytical instruments to deliver scientific results
• Work with Process Science teams to optimise treatment processes and support infrastructure projects
• Provide critical advice to operational teams on water quality and environmental protection
• Gain exposure to Strategic Science and Reporting & Analytics teams
• Transform complex data into meaningful insights supporting evidence-based decisions
• Develop expertise across scientific disciplines while contributing to regional projects

Requirements

• Obtained in the last 3 years or studying towards a minimum 2:2 in any degree discipline
• Must have graduated by September 2027 for the 2027 intake
• Particularly relevant backgrounds include Chemistry, Biology, Environmental Science, Geography, Physics and related disciplines
• Strong interest and passion for relevant scientific areas may be demonstrated through experience, projects or activities
• Curiosity, ambition and readiness to learn
• Problem-solving and collaborative working abilities
• Flexibility to work across the Anglian Water region and departments
• Interest in technology products and passion for the water industry
