Job summary

Centre for Process Innovation in Wilton, England, is seeking a Scientist 1 - Process to support the delivery and realisation of project work within our National Industrial Biotechnology Facility. You will work under the technical supervision of senior colleagues to develop and implement processes for pilot fermentation facilities.

You will set up and run 20–1000 L fermentations, transfer processes to CPI laboratories, and provide microbiological support to Operations and Bioprocess Development

Responsibilities

• Set up, plan and run experimental/pilot-scale fermentations (20-1000 L).
• Support transfer of processes from customer sites and CPI laboratories to pilot facilities.
• Provide microbiological support within the pilot plant for Operations and Bioprocess Development teams.
• Provide clearly documented records of technical data, methodologies and decisions.
• Maintain and calibrate equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Communicate effectively with wider operations teams to deliver project outcomes.

Job description

CPI has an exciting opportunity for a Scientist 1 - Process to join the team at our state of the art National Industrial Biotechnology Facility in Wilton, Redcar. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery and realisation of project work through preparation, development, design, and implementation in line with individual team and the wider technology team's requirements. Working under the technical supervision of senior colleagues, you will support a range of activities to meet business objectives and play a key role in transferring processes into our pilot fermentation facilities. • Supporting the smooth transfer of processes from customer sites and CPI laboratories into larger-scale pilot fermentation facilities
• Provide microbiological support within the pilot plant for Operations and Bioprocess Development teams
