Position Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Process Development Scientist/Engineer to join our team in Cambridge. This role focuses on developing, optimizing, and scaling up bioprocesses for cutting-edge therapeutic modalities. You will work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to deliver robust and scalable solutions to meet the needs of our clients in the biopharmaceutical and life sciences sectors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Development: Design, develop, and optimize upstream and downstream bioprocesses for novel therapeutic products, including cell and gene therapies, monoclonal antibodies, and recombinant proteins.
  • Technology Transfer: Collaborate with manufacturing and R&D teams to ensure seamless transfer of processes from development to GMP production.
  • Data Analysis: Perform in-depth data analysis and interpretation to support process characterization, ensuring reproducibility and scalability.
  • Equipment Management: Operate and maintain state-of-the-art bioprocessing equipment such as bioreactors, chromatography systems, and filtration units.
  • Documentation: Prepare technical reports, protocols, and standard operating procedures (SOPs) in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and product development, to ensure project milestones are achieved.
  • Innovation: Stay abreast of emerging technologies and methodologies in bioprocessing and recommend improvements to existing workflows.
Qualifications and Experience
  • A degree (BSc, MSc, or PhD) in Biochemical Engineering, Biotechnology, Biochemistry, or a related field.
  • Hands‑on experience in upstream (e.g., cell culture, bioreactors) and/or downstream (e.g., filtration, chromatography) process development.
  • Familiarity with cGMP regulations and biomanufacturing standards.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience using software for data analysis (e.g., MATLAB, JMP, or similar).
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment.
  • Knowledge of process characterization and validation principles is desirable.
  • Previous experience in the biopharmaceutical or life sciences industry is highly advantageous.
