This role is based at our site in Eye, Suffolk, with travel to Shardlow, Derbyshire required.

In this role, you will provide leadership, direction, and technical expertise to minimize EHS-related risks at our Eye and Shardlow sites, collaborating with other UK sites.

As an EHS Manager at LabCorp, you will:
  • Oversee EHS operations for the Eye facility and manage up to 3 reports across Eye and Shardlow
  • Manage and implement environmental, health, and safety programs to meet regulatory and corporate standards
  • Promote a positive safety culture throughout the site
  • Partner with site management to achieve EHS-related goals and comply with regulations
  • Perform supervisory duties including recruitment, performance evaluation, work scheduling, training, and career development guidance
  • Assess and advise on EHS risks such as Biological Agents, Chemical Safety, Waste Management, Radiation Safety, Fire Safety, Ergonomics, Noise, Air Emissions, Spill Prevention, Emergency Response, Office Safety, Fleet Safety, Personal Protective Equipment
  • Ensure prevention of work-related injuries and illnesses, reporting and reviewing incidents, and ensuring compliance with governmental agencies
What we need from you:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Life or Physical Sciences
  • Extensive laboratory or R&D experience, or in a high-hazard industry
  • EHS experience in relevant industries
  • Professional certification in Health and Safety and Biosafety
  • Occupational Hygiene and Environmental qualifications are desirable but not essential
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
  • Memberships such as CertIOSH, BSP Level 1, RSB Registered Biorisk Specialist are preferred
