Job summary

The Science Technician position is based in Herefordshire within a successful secondary school's Science Department. You will support Biology, Chemistry and Physics through practical lessons.

Role involves preparing equipment and chemicals, setting up and clearing away experiments, maintaining stock, and helping with risk assessments while ensuring lab safety and compliance. Training will be provided where needed.

Qualifications

• Has a background in science (academic or practical).
• Is organised, reliable and able to work independently.
• Has good attention to detail and strong health & safety awareness.
• Can work effectively as part of a team in a busy school environment.
• Previous experience as a Science Technician is desirable, but not essential as training will be provided.

The Role

Working closely with teaching staff and the Senior Science Technician, you will be responsible for:

• Preparing equipment, materials and chemicals for practical science lessons

• Maintaining, organising and ordering stock and equipment
• Supporting practical lessons where required
• Ensuring laboratories are safe, clean and compliant with current regulations
